At In Fiore, we believe the skin is a sense organ and scent initiates healing. Olfactory Nostalgia is a look at medicinal triggers, scented memories, and the feelings that ensue when taking in a distinct ingredient.
Meet Shauna Faulisi, the NYC-based celebrity chef, nutrition coach, and wellness motivator who knows the power of food. Her skin-care routine starts with the nutrients she puts in her body. And while she believes wholeheartedly in clean eating, Shauna doesn’t resort to labels (keto, paleo, etc.) and is extremely passionate about her clients feeling their best in their bodies.
“Perfume offers me a sense of self-expression and healing. Who I want to be, and how I want to feel often gets expressed in what scent I want the world to know me by.”
– Shauna Faulisi
What & Where:
New York City-based celebrity wellness chef, nutrition coach, wellness motivator, and founder of Soul Wellness Method, a movement and event series.
Lavender is such a familiar scent to me and it feels the most like home. It reminds me of being little and spending at-home “spa time” with my mom. She’s a beauty lover and always made sure my heart was taken care of and sometimes that meant bonding through nails and facials! Smelling lavender evokes memories of those slow, peaceful moments with her.
Perfumery as Medicine:
My sense of smell is my strongest and most favorite of the senses. Perfume offers me a sense of self-expression and healing. Who I want to be, and how I want to feel often gets expressed in what scent I want the world to know me by. At home, fragrance allows me to embody how I want to feel in that moment, and what mood I want to step into.
