Julie Elliott is the founder, CEO and Chief Formulation Officer of In Fiore, and a botanical formulator with more than 35 years of experience. Elliott leads the brand’s strategy, creative direction and product development, and she is the intuitive creatrix behind every handcrafted formula and blend.
Elliott founded In Fiore in 1999, long before natural beauty took its rightful place in the luxury market. What began as a range of rich, hand-blended body balms sold from a San Francisco showroom has evolved into a celebrated collection of skincare and fragrance, carried by retailers and specialty stores around the world.
Inspired by Old World apothecaries, history’s alchemists and her travels, Elliott practices her craft with the accumulated wisdom of ancient traditions, guided by an intuition for scent and blending. Her passion for formulating began in childhood, when she pored over her mother’s French cosmetics and filled notebook after notebook with imaginative formulas.
In Fiore’s chic design, restorative benefits and sensorial pleasure have resonated with discerning luxury clients since the brand’s inception, most notably in Japan, following its launch at Barneys Tokyo Ginza in 2007. In 2016, Albion, Asia’s leading manufacturer and distributor, invited Elliott to collaborate on an exclusive collection. Today, Elliott lives and works in Sayulita, Mexico. Her current work, which she calls perfumery as medicine, brings together aromatic medicine, her original framework Conscious Anatomy. She writes regularly in the In Fiore Journal.
