4-2-4 Edit - Drought Conscious Cleansing
Drought conscious 4-2-4 cleansing, when you just can't justify 4 minutes of rinsing.
These days, with the ever-expanding news on the drought we Californians are facing, it’s no surprise that some of our clients have asked for edits on their skincare when rinsing is involved. And, we’re thrilled to help in the name of nature.
By far, the most prevalent question we’ve received is how to amend the water usage in our highly popular signature 4-2-4 Cleansing Method without affecting the quality of care.
In case you missed it on our Instagram, Into The Gloss recently tried the regimen and said, “skin not only feels cleaner (no more makeup residue rubbing off on the towels post-wash), but I also feel more relaxed and ready to rest.” We agree. It’s quickly becoming commonplace for all of us to do our part with the state’s water conservation efforts. For the rinsing phase, our advice is pretty simple:
Option 1
In traditional spa style, remove the day’s grime with a hot washcloth. Be careful not to scrub too hard as you don’t want to completely strip the natural oils from skin.
Option 2
Fill the basin with hot water and rinse thoroughly with several splashes.
With either option: Finish with 20 seconds of ice-cold water or a cold compress. We promise you’ll get similar results with as little water use as possible…and feel good about it.
