Julie’s Summer Travel Essentials
A Packing Primer
Our founder Julie Elliott knows how to properly pack for a trip. Let's just say she is always prepared for most travel scenarios and has a buttoned-up list of go-to's that never fail. So without further ado, Julie's fully equipped packing list.
CARRY-ON
I've always traveled with an arsenal of tinctures that take up way too much space. Not to mention the droppers themselves took up room and are prone to spills and leaking. Our new offering of remedies represents everything I like to have with me during travel to address multiple issues. And they come in bottles with orifice reducers which take up less space and are much more user-friendly in-flight.
Lâche-Lymphe
Lâche-Lymphe is perfect for a circulation boost, improved hydration, immunity, gut issues, and after the inevitable heavy meal since fats tend to bypass digestion and go directly into the lymph.
Adapt'Âscend
Adapt'Âscend is great before takeoff. Place 15 drops in sparkling water to help mediate an emotional and environmental stress response. Think of this as a grownup Rescue Remedy. At night, take 30 drops before bed to enhance a restful sleep and combat jet lag at your destination.
Immun'Attune
Immun'Attune is ideal for extra support and keeping the immune system in check. Since airplane travel alone makes us more susceptible, and we're still technically in a pandemic, double down and take 30 drops in-flight and once again at your destination.
Briotech HOCL
Travel Size Briotech HOCL (the OG of multihyphenates) is a miracle worker. Every two hours starting from takeoff, use it to disinfect your hands. I spray it on the face, in my mouth, my eyes, and on surfaces. HOCL (hypochlorous acid) is an oxidant produced by white blood cells in our body, which protects us against invading bacteria, fungi, prions, and viruses. It is even used for colds and flu prophylaxis.
Fleur Vibrante Serum Cerate and Vis Claire Suprême
For simple inflight skincare, my go-to's include Fleur Vibrante Serum Cerate and Vis Claire Suprême. Fleur Vibrante Serum Cerate is designed to help skin withstand the stressful conditions and aggressions of everyday life such as UV rays, extreme temps, dry or polluted environments, sleep deprivation, and jet lag. Vis Clair Suprême is an effective serum and cream in one—targeting puffiness, lax skin, dark circles, and tired, puffy, and dehydrated eyes.
CHECK-IN
Go-To Skincare
For skincare, I bring the 424 cleansing method—Lustra and Treate. It's essential to keep up with a good cleansing regimen during travel. And the 424 every evening will keep skin in balance and remedy any skin issue no matter the climate. For layering, I will go the route of Fleur Vibrante Serum Cerate, Vital Toning Floral Essence, and Vis Clair Suprême. Also, I use an added layer of Complexe de Fleur with soothing aloe and microalgae, or Crème de Fleur, for its ability to bind and retain moisture.
Packing Light
For a paired down body regimen, I go with two botanical solutions and a drybrush. They are lightweight and don't take up a lot of room. I also like to bring a balm for extra nourishment (like comfort food at night), but it's not necessary when you're trying to keep it light. Plus, you can shop at your destination for local finds, which, let's be real, is definitely on the list.
Tropical Destinations
For tropical destinations: Calendula and Comfrey Solution Botanique are the best. Calendula solution is unparalleled for intense hydration, improved elasticity, and antioxidant protection. Potent calendula infusion and carrot root deliver high doses of beta-carotene and xanthophyll that act as a daily nutritional supplement helping to restore skin health and balance. It can even be used as a nourishing hair treatment. Comfrey solution is a rejuvenating oil that blends extra-strength comfrey and nettle macerates with helichrysum to accelerate the healing of damaged tissue, stimulate cellular regeneration, and soothe inflammation (think sunburns). It is an excellent post-sun treatment, swelling, and insect bites. My favorite body balm for the tropics is Bois de Rose or Shevanti.
City Destinations
For city destinations, I suggest Fleur Vibrante Solution Botanique and Firmante Elevating Leg Tonic. Fleur Vibrante contains calendula and sea buckthorn with marula oil to optimize cellular function, address skin texture, and protect skin from environmental pollutants. Plus, it is deftly infused with jasmine to double as a fragrance. Firmante contains herbal actives like echinacea and horse chestnut to target circulatory stagnation, water retention, and tissue laxity. The tonic warms on contact and absorbs instantly, leaving legs satin-smooth with a subtle sheen. It also serves as an excellent remedy for combating fatigue due to travel. My favorite balm for city destinations is Bois de Rose or Kashmir.
