Olfactory Nostalgia with Whit McClure
LAVENDER
At In Fiore, we believe the skin is a sense organ and scent initiates healing. Olfactory Nostalgia is a look at medicinal triggers, scented memories, and the feelings that ensue when taking in a distinct ingredient.
Meet Whit McClure, a Los Angeles-based floral designer who’s arrangements are impeccably curated with color. Her bold, whimsy flair combined with seasonal plants deliver more emotion than the traditional bouquet. Whit is also aware that the floral industry is notoriously wasteful, and she’s committed to learning and sharing sustainable solutions.

What & Where:
Floral designer based in Los Angeles.
Ingredient:
Lavender.
Olfactory Nostalgia:
Lavender reminds me of being on a high desert lavender farm in Abiquiu, NM. I had gone on a trip there to visit the home of one of my favorite artists, Georgia O’Keeffe. We came across a lavender farm as we drove through the area and decided to check it out. The winds rolling through the field as I walked around was such a magical sensory experience connecting scent with place and adventure.
Perfumery as Medicine:
Perfumery as medicine means creating with our sense of smell as a pathway towards healing ourselves and others.
